Senior Contracts Lawyer

Home County CouncilRate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOEContract: 3-6 months initially

Fully Remote

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a Home County Council to help them find an experienced Contracts Lawyer. The successful candidate will be part of a team of specialist contract lawyers, providing high-quality legal advice on a range of commercial matters. This will include Public Contract Regulations, subsidy control, company law, NEC and JCT construction contracts, and other contract-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on complex contracts and procurement law matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate high-value commercial agreements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior legal staff.
  • Represent the council at meetings, hearings, or committees as required.

Key Requirements

  • A qualified solicitor, barrister or Fellow of CILEX eligible to practice in England and Wales.
  • Experienced in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • A confident communicator with strong client care and organisational skills.
  • A team player with leadership experience.
