Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority who are seeking a Senior Housing Litigation Lawyer to join them on a locum basis. Please find below further details with regards to this opportunity.ROLE:                  Senior Housing Litigation Lawyer (Locum)LOCATION:         South East LondonRATE:                   £50.00 to £55.00ph LTD (£48.48ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £43.25ph PAYE exc.)CONTRACT         35 hours per week. Initial 3 month contract with possibility of extensionPlease note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.Key Duties:
  • Handle complex housing litigation cases (disrepair, possession, tenancy).
  • Provide legal advice to officers and elected members.
  • Support and supervise junior staff.
  • Deputise for the Principal Lawyer as needed.
  • Represent the authority in court and tribunals.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX.
  • Previous work experience within local authority would also be essential for this position.
  • Strong post-qualification experience in housing law within the public sector.
  • Confident in managing caseloads and mentoring colleagues.
