I’m recruiting for a Senior Planning Counsel/Lawyer to join the in-house legal team of a nationally significant infrastructure project. This is a great opportunity to work at the forefront of UK planning law, advising on complex, high-profile matters.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor, admitted in England & Wales with an active practising certificate
  • Strong, demonstrable experience in planning law.
  • Background in private practice or public sector/local government.
  • Experience with compulsory purchase matters.
  • Previous line management experience.

The Role:
You'll be responsible for delivering expert legal advice across a broad range of planning issues, including:

  • Town and Country Planning
  • Planning enforcement
  • Development consent and bespoke legislative frameworks
  • Compulsory purchase and associated compensation claims
  • Liaison with internal teams and external legal panel firms
  • Advising on planning law matters across the organisation’s land and property interests

This role will have a 1 stage interview process on Teams.
