Client Details

My client is a well established university who are looking for a experience Project Manager. The client is looking to implmentent a new Student Record System. The role will be a 6 months contract with the possibility of extension.

Description

Your New Role:

  • You will formally manages the clients capabilities and treats these as projects.
  • Sets-up key meetings e.g stand-ups, retrospectives, demos and leads these sessions.
  • Works closely with the supplier to ensure the kickoff, alignment sessions and other workshops run smoothly.
  • Work closely with SMEs and other core programme team members to ensure that deliverables are on time, to budget to a high quality.
  • Work with the Business Analysts to ensure that the adopt not adapt principle is closely followed and that requirements are only mapped where needed to do so e.g a compliance area.
  • Work closely with the existing Project Manager and Programme Manager to help work to the overall implementation plan, set-up work packages in JIRA and communicate any issues to key deliverables.
  • Actively resolve issues at ground level with key stakeholders.
  • Present updates and reports at the monthly programme board and feel comfortable attending stakeholder wide briefings to actively discuss and communicate the programme context & answer any stakeholder questions.

Profile

What you need to be successful:

Must haves:

  • Agile with scrum and Prince2 qualifications and experience
  • Must have Higher Education experience
  • Experience of Long-term, complex, fast paced transformation programme experience
  • Ability to lead multiple capabilities/projects in parallel
  • Proactive ability to identify, raise and help mitigate and resolve risks and issues
  • Empathetic attitude towards SMEs and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience of change management and cultural change impact
  • experience of working with subject matter experts in cross functional teams
  • experience of working in an organisation with a maturing change.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment and have worked with technical suppliers on large scale delivery programmes and/or projects

Should haves:

  • Knowledge and experience of core student records system e.g SITS and Banner.
  • Technical implementation experience with other systems is sufficient e.g Agresso
