If you've worked in sports coaching, the prison service, youth work, or mental health, your skills could make a life-changing difference in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in London.

This PRU provides education and support for students aged 11-16 who have been excluded from mainstream school or are at risk of exclusion. The staff team is passionate, resilient, and committed to giving every young person a second chance - and they're looking for someone like you to join them.

The Role:

  • Build positive relationships with students who have social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Support pupils in and out of class to help them engage with learning and manage their behaviour.
  • Act as a role model - calm under pressure, consistent, and compassionate.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral leads to support progress and wellbeing.

Who We're Looking For:

You don't need school experience - just the right attitude and transferable skills.
We'd love to hear from you if you've worked as a:

  • Sports Coach or Youth Worker - skilled at motivating and mentoring young people.
  • Ex-Forces or Prison Service Professional - experienced in managing challenging behaviour and staying calm under pressure.
  • Mental Health Nurse or Support Worker - confident supporting individuals with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Community or Support Worker - with a passion for helping others reach their potential.

Above all, you'll need empathy, resilience, and a belief that every young person deserves a chance to succeed.
