Are you passionate about supporting young people and creating a positive learning environment? A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated pastoral team on a 6-month maternity cover, starting May 2025.

This is a full-time opportunity, ideal for someone who is calm, resilient, and eager to make a lasting impact on the lives of students facing behavioural or emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one mentoring and small group interventions to students across KS3 and KS4
  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties (BESD/SEMH)
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement consistent behaviour strategies
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive school culture and positive student conduct
  • Assist in managing incidents using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting secondary-aged students, especially those with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain professional and solution-focused under pressure
  • Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, mental health, or behaviour support (desirable but not essential)
