Learning Mentor

Empowering Learning are seeking a Learning Mentor to join a secondary school in East London, supporting students with behaviour, SEN, SEMH and providing targeted interventions to help improve progress, engagement and development.

This Learning Mentor role will involve working 1:1, running small-group interventions, offering behaviour coaching and supporting students across KS3, KS4 and KS5. You'll play a key part in improving behaviour, attendance and classroom routines so students can access their full curriculum and maintain steady progression.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver behaviour, SEN and SEMH support across the school

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups during lessons or structured sessions

  • Work closely with pastoral, behaviour and SEN teams

  • Help students manage routines, expectations and challenges

  • Support learning across the full curriculum, encouraging positive progression

  • Experience in behaviour support, mentoring, youth work, SEN or SEMH

  • Confident behaviour management and the ability to build trust quickly

  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills

  • Someone who wants to support student development and long-term progression

  • A calm, reliable presence who can work well with staff, families and outside agencies
