Pastoral Mentor - Secondary School - Tower Hamlets

Full Time | Term Time Only | January 2026 Start
Up to 125 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are working with a large and well-respected secondary school in Tower Hamlets to appoint a Pastoral Mentor to join their behaviour and pastoral support team from October 2025.

The role focuses on supporting students across Key Stage 3 and 4, working closely with Heads of Year to uphold high standards of behaviour, engagement, attendance and wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about student welfare who wants to develop their career within a supportive and structured pastoral framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for students in KS3/4 with behavioural and pastoral needs
  • Assist Heads of Year with behaviour monitoring, attendance tracking and interventions
  • Run daily check-ins, restorative conversations and reintegration meetings
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies where necessary
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to ensure a positive school experience
  • Contribute to the delivery of behaviour support programmes and mentoring

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students in a behaviour or pastoral capacity
  • A calm, consistent, and supportive presence
  • Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and SEMH needs
  • Background in inclusion, youth work, or pupil referral units is highly desirable
