Our client is seeking a meticulous and strategic Conflict & New Client Analyst for a 12-month contract based in London.

This role offers the opportunity to work within an international legal professional services environment, focusing on processing conflict checks and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and sanctions obligations. The successful candidate will be part of a global team, complementing support provided by staff across APAC and the USA. This role offers a flexible working schedule with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

What you'll do:

As a Conflict & New Client Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all new business intake is free from any potential conflicts of interest. You will be tasked with analysing search results, determining if there are any ethical or commercial conflicts, and taking appropriate action. Your role will also involve maintaining the conflict search database, checking clients through online PEP/sanctions screening tools, and dealing with business acceptance queries. Your meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure will be crucial in this role.

  • Process conflict checks received via the automated New Business Intake process
  • Analyse search results to determine whether new matters are clear of ethical or commercial conflicts
  • Follow up proactively when seeking information to resolve potential conflicts
  • Maintain and update the conflict search database as key information becomes apparent on existing matters
  • Check clients and associated parties through online PEP/sanctions screening tool
  • Record all conflict research, communication with Fee Earners, analysis and conclusion of conflict resolution for compliance and auditing purposes
  • Deal with business acceptance queries including conflicts and anti-money laundering ID queries

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Conflict & New Client Analyst position brings a wealth of experience from the legal professional services sector. With at least 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, you have developed a deep understanding of international rules around conflicts of interests and anti-money laundering legislation. Your degree or other relevant qualifications further underscore your expertise in this field. Your strong customer focus, coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills, make you an asset to any team.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience within the legal professional services environment
  • Knowledge of international rules around conflicts of interests
  • Understanding of international anti-money laundering legislation
  • Degree or other relevant qualifications
  • Highly PC literate - experience using Elite 3E, IntApp Open or similar management systems is desirable
  • Strong customer focus with excellent oral and written communications skills
