An awarding winning Law Firm based in London City is seeking a Senior Billing Assistant, paying up to 38,000 plus a great benefits package, to join their growing team.

The role will be supporting the firms billing function and making sure that clients are billed according to work provided as well as liaising closely with Solicitors and Partners to the business to manage client accounts.

Please note this is a hybrid working role, most of the finance department do work from home but there will be an expectation to come into the office as when there will be training and team meetings. Accessibility and proximity to London is a must as the days in the office can fluctuate depending on business needs.

Duties will include the following:

  • Responsible for processing billing received from fee earning departments through the internal financial system
  • Identifying and raising billing queries with departments in a timely and professional manner
  • Responsible for the monthly submission of statements to clients in a timely and accurate manner. Providing accurate copy bills to clients.
  • Adding Purchase Order numbers to the system generated bills and providing updated bills to client.
  • Working closely with and assisting the credit control team in relation to client billing queries.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with the development of the billing process and system development.
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with leading on change management to the billing process and system upgrade.
  • Working with internal stakeholders on upgrading the billing system and processes.
  • To provide assistance and cover to the members of the billing team.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships with the Accounts Operations Team so that queries can be resolved in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Keeping the Operations Manager fully informed of issues and providing suggestions and solutions to deal with them, as well as ideas for process improvements.
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate records of query statuses.

The ideal candidate will have from 3-5 years experience working in a legal billing department and have extensive experience with senior stakeholder management. You will be a great team player, working with more junior members to provide support, having the ability to prioritise workloads as well as work to strict deadlines. You will be numerically minded with an eye for detail, working with accuracy. Great with systems and processes, as you will be assisting and helping to develop new systems/ processes for the department.
