Learning Resources Centre Assistant – Hackney AreaLocation: HackneySalary: £17.97 per hourHours: Full-time, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, ASAP until end of June MUST HAVE DBS ON UPDATEWe are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Resources Centre Assistant to join a dynamic team in Hackney. This is a full-time, fixed-term position offering the opportunity to work within a learning-focused environment, assisting and supporting both learners and staff with the use of learning resources.Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer care and front-line support at the LRC counter and IT service desk.
  • Assist in managing the learning resources collection to support teaching and learning.
  • Register new users, issue, renew, and return library items, and manage bookings for LRC rooms and services.
  • Promote a conducive learning environment and supervise students, ensuring adherence to appropriate behaviour standards.
  • Assist students with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in accessing the facilities.
  • Contribute to marketing and promoting the LRC services to staff and students.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment in collaboration with other team members and security staff.
Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to support students and staff.
  • Proficiency with library management systems (LMS), and basic software support.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when necessary.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and duties, including covering at other centres when required.
