Description

Our client is looking for a Logistics Manager to join the team in London. This role involves managing and optimising logistics, both locally and for long-distance operations, while maintaining transparency and ensuring timely communication with the senior leadership and relevant business units. You will be responsible for co-ordinating freight offers and inquiries, planning economical routes, preparing shipping documents and overseeing deadlines and schedules. This is an exciting opportunity to take on significant projects and to play a key role within the organisation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Freight Management: Disposition and processing of freight offers & inquiries to ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Documentation: Prepare shipping documents and monitor deadlines and dates to ensure timely and accurate logistics.
  • Asset Management: Regularly co-ordinate with Suppliers, Operations and Finance and use systems to track the lifecycle (inbound and internal movements) of company assets.
  • Status Reporting: Regularly report on logistics progress and any critical updates to senior leadership, ensuring transparency in logistics operations and timely issue resolution.
  • Transport Control & Route Planning: Collaborate with the logistics team to oversee and control the entire transport process.
  • Issue Escalation: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and escalate potential delays or issues, ensuring swift action to minimise impact.
  • Liaison with Sales Teams: Maintain open communication with sales teams to keep them informed of the current logistics status, preventing commitments to undeliverable timelines or products.
  • Project Management: Take on unique and engaging projects, such as setting up an inventory control system, to enhance logistics efficiency.

Profile

The successful Logistics Manager will need to be able to commute to London 1-2 days per week as part of a hybrid working arrangement and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • A track record in EU logistics in either a freight forwarding role or a senior logistics role within a HQ environment.
  • You will be familiar with current customs legislation and associated documentation.
  • Experience of international freight forwarding is a must.
  • Previous experience within a tech company would be advantageous.
  • A strong team player with a collaborative mindset and high motivation, along with a proactive approach to driving initiatives.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritise tasks effectively, with keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report to senior leadership and engage with various stakeholders

Job Offer

The successful Logistics Manager will be offered a salary of between £55,000 and £70,000.
