Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Client Direct - Critical Banking Environment - London - Up to £53,542 without AP training (£63,188 with AP Training)

Exciting opportunity to work In House / Client Direct for a very well known financial institution in London. My client is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based across 2 critical / commercial buildings in London. The successful candidates will be electrically biased (C&G / NVQ) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance, ideally within a critical site (i.e. Bank, Data centre, Blue chip office etc). Working with the maintenance team on site, he or she will have experience leading a team and be required to carry out mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance to the following. In return the company is offering a competitive package up to £53,542 without HV/LV (£63,188 with AP Training), further training and career progression.

Package

  • Total package of up to £53,542 without AP ticket (£63,188 with AP Training)
  • Up to £36,000 basic + £8000 shift allowance + 10% bonus (£3,600)

Hours of work

  • Day Shift (10 - 12 hour shifts)
  • 3 on, 1 off, 3 on, 3 off, 4 on, 7 off, 4 on, 3 off
  • Later start on Saturdays & Sundays

Duties:

  • Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive maintenance is carried out to all client assets through operation of Planned Preventative Maintenance System.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain the plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are completed in the form of job sheets.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, reviewed and utilized for all tasks (PPM and reactive) carried out to ensure safe working practices.
  • Lighting (Small installation, Fault-finding, Lamping, Changing ballast's, Control panel, Power distribution)
  • Emergency lighting
  • Air Conditioning - Air Handling Units / Fan Coil Unit (Filter changes, cleaning)
  • Chillers - Re-set
  • Water Treatment (Temperature checks / Not dosing)
  • Monitor mechanical plant
  • Pumps, motors
  • BMS System - Monitor (i.e. Hot & Colds)
  • Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them.
  • Be proactive to ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required.
  • Maintain informal communications with Client staff members related to service levels and issues.
  • Report service affecting issued to the site management team for formal communication with the client.
  • Remain flexible with regard to site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency.
  • Be fully aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters.
  • Escort specialist subcontractors

Requirements

  • Mechanically qualified Level 3 / HNC / HND
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
  • Will need to pass security clearance
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • An understanding of critical plant: Chillers, HVAC, UPS systems, Cooling Towers etc
  • Excellent customer skills
  • Ideally multi skilled

Highly desirable (Not essential)

  • Any further qualifications (i.e. Mechanical or Air Conditioning etc)
  • Experience working in a bank / data centre / commercial Office
  • High Voltage - Experience / Qualification - Current
