PSR Rail Team are currently recruiting for a Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) in London to work on one of the biggest Rail projects in London being the Old Oak Common. This will be working for a Tier 1 contractor.



The Role

As CEM, you will be the primary engineering authority within the companies for assigned projects. You will ensure all engineering activities are delivered in accordance with the client's specifications, industry standards, and relevant legislation. You'll act as the key liaison between the client, design teams, and delivery teams, ensuring seamless integration and compliance throughout the engineering lifecycle.







Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all engineering activities on the project from concept to completion.

  • Act as the engineering interface between the companies, the client, and other stakeholders.

  • Review and approve engineering deliverables in line with project requirements.

  • Ensure all design and engineering work complies with applicable standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

  • Manage the Technical Assurance Plan and ensure the production of relevant certification.

  • Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and integration.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering and design teams.

  • Interface with Network Rail, Transport for London (TfL), or other infrastructure authorities as required.

  • Support the production of Work Package Plans and ensure constructability reviews are completed.







Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related discipline).

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (preferred).

  • Extensive experience as a CEM on major infrastructure projects (e.g., rail, tunnels, stations, M&E systems).

  • In-depth knowledge of Network Rail GRIP/PACE or equivalent infrastructure delivery frameworks.

  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

  • Experience in managing design interfaces and technical assurance on multidisciplinary projects.

  • Competency in managing compliance with CDM regulations and relevant safety legislation.
