They are currently seeking a dedicated Externals Finishing Manager to oversee the critical final stages of their developments, with a strong emphasis on achieving impeccable standards in lead sheet flat roofing, windows, external doors, and brickwork.

The Role:

As the Externals Finishing Manager, you will be responsible for driving the snagging and final finishing stages of all external elements on high-end residential projects. Your primary focus will be ensuring that the lead sheet flat roofing, window installations, external door fittings, and brickwork achieve the highest possible standards of quality and aesthetic appeal, ready for handover to discerning clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the external snagging and finishing process for all properties within the development.
  • Conduct thorough and detailed inspections of all external finishes, with a particular focus on lead sheet flat roofing, window seals and operation, external door fitting and security, and brickwork quality (pointing, cleanliness, etc.).
  • Develop and manage comprehensive snagging lists, ensuring clear and concise documentation of all defects.
  • Effectively communicate snagging requirements to relevant subcontractors and internal teams, driving timely and high-quality rectifications.
  • Monitor and track the progress of snagging works, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are achieved.
  • Liaise closely with the Site Management team, Project Managers, and client representatives regarding external finishes and snagging progress.
  • Ensure all external works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant building regulations.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all external finishing trades.
  • Proactively identify potential finishing issues and implement preventative measures.
  • Manage the handover process for completed external areas, ensuring client satisfaction with the final finishes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on best practices for external finishing, particularly in roofing, brickwork, and joinery.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven and extensive experience as an Externals Finishing Manager or similar role within the high-end residential sector.
  • Strong and demonstrable experience in the snagging and finishing of key external elements, including lead sheet flat roofing, windows, external doors, and brickwork.
  • Significant experience and a thorough understanding of lead sheet flat roofing installation, detailing, and quality standards is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to achieving the highest quality finishes.
  • Excellent knowledge of external building materials, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate snagging requirements and drive rectifications.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple properties and snagging lists simultaneously.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving finishing issues.
  • A valid CSCS card is essential.
