This role sits within a high-profile research team and will play a key part in delivering impactful economic analysis, insight, and publications that support the organisation's strategic priorities.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Economist to deliver timely and insightful economic analysis and reporting.
- Update and maintain a suite of core economic research reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance of both data and narrative.
- Contribute ideas and content for new economic research outputs, including both qualitative and quantitative work.
- Provide economic insight and data to support external submissions, policy documents, speeches, and presentations.
- Respond to media requests for statistics and commentary, supporting the organisation's external voice.
- Maintain and update internal databases of economic statistics, ensuring the integrity of data used across the organisation.
- Assist in a potential redesign of the economic data infrastructure (time permitting and secondary to core responsibilities).
- Support other economics-related tasks and projects as required.

- Data providers (e.g., Refinitiv)

Person Specification:
- Degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- 4-5 years' experience in an economist or economic research analyst role
- Strong quantitative analysis and modelling skills
- Proven ability to apply macroeconomic techniques to industry-specific contexts
- Proficient in sourcing and analysing UK and international economic data
- In-depth knowledge of the UK economy and financial services sector
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in explaining economic data clearly and concisely
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Interest in UK public policy and the application of economic analysis in a political context
