Mechanical Building Maintenance Engineer - Harley Street

We're seeking a versatile Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team at our new Harley Street facility. This role is essential in delivering top-tier maintenance services across the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, scheduled, and project-based work.

About the Role: You'll ensure the smooth operation of critical systems and infrastructure, contributing directly to our mission of improving human life. This is more than just a maintenance role-it's a chance to be part of a purpose-driven team that supports exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service electrical and mechanical systems (AHUs, AC units, emergency lighting, fire alarms, generators).
  • Conduct daily checks and planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a clean, operational plant area.
  • Perform water hygiene tasks (flushing, temperature checks) per Water Risk Assessment.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks via the CAFM system, including emergency and reactive maintenance.
  • Liaise with landlords and contractors, attend meetings, and oversee on-site works.
  • Review RAMs, issue permits, and support project work as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or building services; mechanical/plumbing preferred).
  • Experience in hospital or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of BMS systems, water hygiene, fire regulations, Health & Safety, and COSHH.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A flexible, proactive approach to work.
