Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking to recruit a Gas Engineer - Commercial to provide effective technical and administrative support to the Account Management team, while also ensuring the smooth and efficient processing and delivery of customer orders across a range of product groups.

Main Purpose of the Job

To be a brand ambassador for SAV Aftersales, providing a first in class service to our customers in relation to commissioning, servicing, and maintaining gas fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units and related components, heat pumps, electric boilers, heat interface units, ventilation and new products within the SAV product portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, servicing, and maintaining gas fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units and related components, heat pumps, electric boilers, heat interface units and move within the SAV product portfolio.
  • Fault finding and surveying commercial heating installations and systems in a variety of sectors (hotels, schools, nursing homes).
  • Communicating professionally and courteously with clients and delivering a first in class service.
  • Generating accurate and timely site reports within our CRM system.
  • Participating in manufacturer and in-house CPD training to achieve the industry recognised qualifications required to carry out the role to the highest standards.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety regulations and working safely at all times.

The role may include some working away from home for short periods.

The above list of duties is not exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.

Skills and Experience

  • A good working knowledge of the combustion process and correct commissioning and set up (combustion analyser) of gas appliances and burners to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Experience of providing commercial gas and heating site support.
  • A technical aptitude, with an interest in low carbon technologies.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Good MS Office skills are essential and experience of inputting and updating information in a CRM database would be ideal.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.

Education and Qualifications

  • COCN1, CIGA1, TPCP1A, CPA1, CGRE
  • Current commercial gas ACS certificates and be registered with the Gas Safe Register
  • Safe electrical isolation (in-house training is available, if required)
