Geotechnical Design Engineer - London

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with around 5 years' experience to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in slope stability, interpretative reporting, and numerical modelling using PLAXIS, who is ready to take on responsibility for delivering high-quality geotechnical advice.

You will have the opportunity to join a talented team of engineers working on a variety of challenging infrastructure and development projects. The role offers exposure to complex ground conditions, technical problem solving, and opportunities to take the lead on geotechnical assessments and design solutions. The team is collaborative, supportive, and committed to delivering practical, well-engineered solutions.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Conduct slope stability assessments and earthworks analysis
  • Analyse ground investigation data and prepare interpretative reports
  • Develop geotechnical design recommendations and provide technical input to projects
  • Use PLAXIS for numerical modelling and design verification
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams

Essential criteria:

  • Degree in civil or geotechnical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Proven experience in slope stability assessments
  • Strong interpretative report writing skills
  • Proficient in PLAXIS or similar geotechnical software
  • Full UK driving licence
