Join our FE College at an exciting time as a High Skills Technician in Mechanical Engineering. This role supports our higher education delivery and the West London Institute of Technology, which offers a range of higher education programmes. With excellent facilities and a highly successful team, this is a great opportunity for someone passionate about engineering education.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work within the Mechanical Engineering area, including the Materials Lab, Mechanical Science Lab, and Project Lab.
  • Assist lecturers in preparing equipment and resources for teaching and learning.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are at an efficient level.
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure all aspects of health and safety are complied with.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with mechanical test equipment, such as for material testing, fluid mechanics, and mechanical principles.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with young people.
