Mechanical Design Engineer

Attention all Mechanical Design Engineers!

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, to join a well-established engineering, design and build contractor, on a contract basis, outside IR35. You will be required to work from the Heathrow site office, initially full time, but this will flex to a hybrid pattern within a couple of months.

-Competitive day rate ranging from 400-450 (depending on experience).

-On-site working arrangements at first, transitioning to Hybrid after a couple of months.

Responsibilities:

-Develop mechanical designs from stage 4 to 5, all the way through to construction issue.

-Ensure that all designs comply with relevant regulations and standards, and that they are buildable and operationally efficient.

-Assemble drawings, layout, model coordination, and specifications using BIM workflows and other relevant software.

-Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and clients to find solutions to any technical issues and manage any changes to current designs.

-Contribute to refurbishment and upgrade projects, ensuring systems remain operational and disruptions are kept to a minimum during installation.

What We Are Looking For:

-Ideally a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification, in mechanical engineering.

-Extensive experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer delivering complex construction projects, particularly with chilled and low temperature hot water, smoke extraction, and drainage.

-Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical services, including HVAC systems, and familiar with relevant British Standards.

-Preferably skilled in Revit, AutoCAD.

-Effective communicator with experience working with multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to manage tasks timely and effectively.
