Mechanical Engineer – Facilities Management / Building Services
Location: London Wall
Salary: £45,000 + Training + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday (Split Shift)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time
About the Role
Our client has approached us seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their facilities Management team, ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of all mechanical building services systems across a key commercial site.
You’ll play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to a variety of plant and equipment, helping maintain safety, comfort, and performance within a busy, high-profile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, motors, valves, and pipework
- Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical and plumbing plant
- Ensure compliance with water hygiene, pressure systems, and HVAC standards
- Support small works, upgrades, and installation projects as required
- Maintain accurate records of all works completed and materials used
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and the FM management team to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in commercial building services or FM environments (offices, healthcare, education, or similar)
- Good understanding of HVAC, water systems, and mechanical plant operations
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Awareness of health & safety procedures and statutory compliance requirements
- Additional electrical or BMS experience would be advantageous
