Mechanical Engineer – Facilities Management / Building Services

Location: London Wall
Salary: £45,000 + Training + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday (Split Shift)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time

About the Role

Our client has approached us seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their facilities Management team, ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of all mechanical building services systems across a key commercial site.

You’ll play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to a variety of plant and equipment, helping maintain safety, comfort, and performance within a busy, high-profile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, motors, valves, and pipework
Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on mechanical and plumbing plant
Ensure compliance with water hygiene, pressure systems, and HVAC standards
Support small works, upgrades, and installation projects as required
Maintain accurate records of all works completed and materials used
Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and the FM management team to ensure a safe and efficient working environment

Qualifications & Experience

Recognised Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Proven experience in commercial building services or FM environments (offices, healthcare, education, or similar)
Good understanding of HVAC, water systems, and mechanical plant operations
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
Awareness of health & safety procedures and statutory compliance requirements
Additional electrical or BMS experience would be advantageous
