Days Mechanical Engineer – Peckham

£40,000–£45,000 + Overtime | Monday–Friday | Stable, Long-Term Role

A leading Facilities Management provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their on-site team at a well-established University campus in Peckham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, community-focused environment with excellent job security and long-term progression.

The Role

Working Monday to Friday, you’ll be responsible for delivering mechanical PPMs, reactive maintenance, and general building services support across the campus. You will ensure all mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance requirements while providing a professional and friendly service to staff, students, and campus users.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant
Maintain & fault-find on boilers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, HVAC systems & plumbing infrastructure
Support campus operations by ensuring classrooms, labs, and student areas remain functional
Monitor and adjust BMS systems to maintain comfortable environmental conditions
Assist with minor fabric and general building maintenance when required
Complete all compliance paperwork, logbooks, and job sheets accurately
Work closely with the on-site FM team, contractors, and university stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Level 3 Mechanical Qualification (or equivalent)
Strong experience within building services (educational or commercial sites ideal)
Good understanding of boilers, HVAC, pumps, valves, and general mechanical plant
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small on-site team
F-Gas, Plumbing or Water Hygiene certification (advantageous but not essential)
