About the Role
We are recruiting for a proactive and experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM provider, delivering high-quality building services across a flagship commercial site. This is a critical role within a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems and supporting the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services systems
- Maintain HVAC systems, pumps, AHUs, fan coil units, boilers, and chillers
- Operate and monitor BMS systems to optimise building performance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and health & safety standards
- Support subcontractor management and site coordination
- Respond to emergency situations and support shift coverage as required
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Solid experience in building services within commercial FM environments
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical plant systems
- Experience working on a continental shift pattern (days & nights)
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Additional certifications (e.g. F-Gas, Legionella) are desirable
