Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: London, UK

The Role:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-profile projects from feasibility through to construction. You will be involved in ground investigations, geotechnical design, risk assessment, and providing technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and interpret ground investigations.

  • Carry out detailed geotechnical design and analysis (foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, etc.).

  • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and design documentation.

  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental teams on complex engineering projects.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment.

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field (MSc/MEng preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of UK geotechnical standards, codes, and design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Oasys).

  • Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or a relevant institution is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
