Senior Structural Engineer
London
54k-58k plus benefits
Our client is a genuinely exceptional employer-one that stands out for its commitment to people and its refreshing approach to work-life balance. The business is expanding in a thoughtful, sustainable way, choosing the right projects while protecting the strong culture that has made them so successful.
Their work spans an impressive range of projects, from modest 100k schemes to major developments of up to 20m. Every engineer is involved throughout the project process, from winning new work to seeing the final design come to life, creating a true sense of ownership and variety. The firm is now looking to welcome a Senior Structural Engineer to their London team.
They are seeking someone with at least five years of experience, ideally gained across domestic, residential, commercial, and education sectors. Experience on smaller-scale projects-particularly refurbishments-is especially valuable, as this forms the heart of their workload. Chartership, or being close to achieving it, is a strong advantage, along with the confidence to carry out site visits independently and manage day-to-day design tasks with autonomy.
A solid command of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber design is essential, with additional expertise in timber or concrete seen as a bonus. Familiarity with Tekla structural design and Robot software will be viewed very favourably, and anyone with an appetite for business development-whether that's writing proposals, building client relationships, or helping bring in new work-will be warmly welcomed.
One of the company's biggest strengths is its flexible approach to working life. Engineers can work remotely for up to three days a week, depending on workload and personal preference. This freedom comes with an expectation of self-motivation, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset, as much of the day-to-day interaction happens via Teams or phone.
If you're looking for a senior role where autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful work come together, this is a rare opportunity to join a firm that truly puts people.
