Teaching: Pupils from Nursery - Year 6
Status: Full-time and Permanent position
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:30am - 3:30pm)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our vibrant and flourishing Primary School. We are looking for the perfect individual to join us on a full time and permanent basis, starting in the new academic year.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in students of all ages. This role involves teaching various musical instruments, vocal techniques, and music theory, while also encouraging creativity and self-expression among students.

We can offer fantastic facilities including our own School Music Room. As part of this position, the ideal candidate will be happy to lead and deliver lunch time and after school activities as well as extra curricular activities such as leading the school choir.

About the role:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music education to pupils from Nursery to Year 6
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum aligned with national standards
  • Lead regular music assemblies and coordinate school performances
  • Organise and run lunchtime and after-school music clubs
  • Prepare pupils for musical performances and events throughout the school year
  • Maintain musical instruments and equipment
  • Track and assess pupil progress in music
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into the wider curriculum
  • Support whole-school events with musical elements

Qualifications and Qualities that we're looking for:

  • UK QTS or years of experienced as an unqualified Primary Music Teacher
  • Experience teaching music to all ages in Primary: Nursery to Year 6
  • A degree related to Music or performance
  • Proficiency in multiple instruments
  • Comfortable leading and directing extra curricular clubs and activities such as choir
  • Knowledge of music technology and digital composition tools
  • Strong musical ability across multiple instruments
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Creative approach to music education
  • Strong communication skills with both children and adults
  • Ability to inspire and nurture musical talent in children of all abilities
  • Well-organised with excellent time management skills
