Tradewind Recruitment is excited to be working with a successful and inclusive client school in Islington who are seeking a Part-time Teacher of Music to join their dynamic Performing Arts department. This maternity cover position begins in September 2025, working 2 days per week, and will last for 1 year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Music teacher to deliver engaging and creative lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a school that values arts education as a key part of its curriculum.

Job Role Requirements:

  • Teach Music across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire creativity and musical growth.
  • Encourage students to participate in extra-curricular musical activities such as choirs, instrumental ensembles, and school productions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the musical life of the school.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and contribute to assessments and reporting.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
  • A relevant degree in Music or Music Education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical musicianship skills.
  • Experience teaching Music in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to engage and motivate a diverse range of students.
  • A commitment to inclusion, creativity, and continuous improvement.
