Claims Analytics Lead - International Portfolio Analytics Team

Are you an experienced analytics professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic and evolving company? This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of an analytics pillar within a reputable International Insurer.

About the role:

This role sits in the International Portfolio Analytics team. The team are an autonomous function embedded within the underwriting business. Its focus is on key areas critical for achieving profitability and performance targets, within a specialty and commercial lines insurer.

Claims data has massively improved in recent years, local teams are able to produce and analyse their own data to optimise operations/performance. As the Claims Analytics Lead, you'll produce analytics from an International perspective, enabling the business to visualise their overall claims performance, uncovering patterns and insights to aid portfolio steering. This role allows you to be creative, business partnering with an impressive claims community to produce actionable data insights for smarter-decision making. The role has plenty of scope for project work.

Actuarial backgrounds wanting to utilise their skill set in a non-traditional (high profile) role. Data Science/Analytics insurance backgrounds, confident in being able to shape the set up an analytics function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and establish a Claims Analytics function that delivers valuable insights to enable smarter claims and underwriting decisions.
  • Produce claims portfolio analyses to identify key drivers and characteristics impacting underwriting performance.
  • Work with the claims team to optimise claims processes, including MI/KPI reporting and resource modeling.
  • Collaborate with in-house data science teams to enhance advanced claims analytics and predictive modeling tools.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reports providing real-time insights into claims operations and performance.
  • Lead the development of the claims analytics framework for the International business.
  • Work closely with underwriting portfolio managers on class-specific projects to help provide input into underwriting strategy.
  • Contribute to the data strategy of the International claims teams, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Offer innovative ideas for Quarterly Business Reviews, supporting portfolio steering.
  • Build strong relationships across multiple business units, including actuarial, underwriting operations, ITS, and support services.
  • Represent the International Portfolio Analytics team in leadership meetings, ensuring accurate and timely management information.

What you will bring:

  • Strong communication and data visualization skills to present insights across various levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, or R.Experience with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is desirable.
  • The ability to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports for real-time claims insights.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, influencing decisions with effective communication. An awareness of advanced analytics and data science would be beneficial but is not essential.
