School Nurse - Battersea, London
Full Time, term-time only
Competitive salary

Our client is an independent, co-educational day school in Battersea and occupies a 12-acre site close to Clapham Junction railway station.

They are seeking an experienced and well qualified Nurse to play a key role supporting pupils and staff in the medical room and assisting with the administration of the medical department.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide first aid and emergency care and treatment as necessary to pupils and employees of the school, as well as assist with the organisation and management of any vaccinations.

You will need to communicate with parents and, when required, collaborate with healthcare professionals to support the medical needs of pupils, as well as maintain and update medical records.

You will also need to ensure the maintenance and organisation of medical rooms and ensure first aid kits around the school are monitored and restocked at the end of each term and supply first aid kits for trips when necessary.

This is a term time role, working Monday - Friday from 8.30am - 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

You will also be required to work an additional 15 days per annum, with 9 days to be worked on Saturdays (autumn and spring term) and 6 days to be worked during school holidays

To be considered for this role you will be an RGN with a degree in nursing with current NMC registration.

A confident approach to medical issues with the ability to communicate confidently to pupils, parents and staff is essential.

The ability to build effective relationships with pupils, parents and staff is equally important.

Working here

There is always a buzz at this school. Colleagues enjoy their work and, like the pupils, are ambitious for the school. With a weekly staff briefing, half termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a common room committee, all of us are engaged in a lively ongoing dialogue about the school's aims and aspirations.

Everyone works hard here, and anyone joining us should expect to do the same and share our commitment to the highest standards. At the same time our ethos remains unpretentious, kindly and practical, and there's a strong sense of community and friendship at the school.

We aim to look after our staff well: we have an appraisal scheme with a focus on employees' professional development; we sponsor postgraduate courses and a range of training opportunities; we offer salary sacrifice childcare vouchers through TEDS Premier, we offer a healthcare plan via Simply Health that includes counselling and medical support; and we're committed to supporting staff wellbeing. Financially, all staff benefit from good pension provision and free lunches.

The closing date for applications is 10th October 2025
