Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Respiratory Medicine team at West Middlesex Hospital. This role will support patient care across ICU, respiratory, cardiology, enhanced care, and surgical wards, focusing on complex rehabilitation needs and effective discharge planning. It is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with experience in acute medicine and a strong interest in respiratory and cardiology.
Key Responsibilities-
Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services across ICU, respiratory, cardiology, enhanced care, and surgical wards

Conduct comprehensive discharge planning to facilitate safe transitions for patients

Provide complex rehabilitation and support junior staff members

Work flexibly across departments to meet patient needs and support multidisciplinary teams

Operate autonomously in high-pressure situations while maintaining patient-centred care
Essential Criteria:

Active HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

Inpatient experience in acute healthcare

Proficiency in respiratory, surgical, cardiology, neuro, or neuro rehab areas

Strong discharge planning skills
Desirable Criteria:

Rehabilitation experience
