~ Supported Lettings Officer ~

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in South London to appoint an experienced Supported Lettings Officer to join the Rough Sleepers Support Service.

Contract - 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.

Full Time Hours - 36 Hours per week.

Location - SE15. (In office or out procuring properties. On request wfh can be considered up to day a week)

Rate of Pay - 22 - 26 per hour - Negotiable depending on experience.

Main Duties:

  • Deliver on targets to procure properties for the council to use for rough sleepers and homelessness prevention.
  • Work in partnership with the Street Population Outreach Team and Outreach Navigators to ensure that customers are rehoused in suitable and affordable private rented sector accommodation.
  • Provide rapid intensive support, advice and assistance to single people at imminent risk of a first night sleeping rough.
  • Establish links with property providers nationally in order to maximise opportunities for the procurement of properties for Southwark's rough sleepers.
  • Work with the Private Rented Sector and Financial Inclusion Teams to ensure Rough Sleepers and single people at imminent risk of a first night sleeping rough understand their rights and responsibilities along with possible benefits that are available to this cohort.
  • This is a specialist role that will be at the forefront of the prevention of homelessness, and at the cutting edge of the Homelessness Act 2017.
