Purpose of the Role

The Business Support Manager is responsible for leading the Business Support Team, ensuring the smooth delivery of administrative services, optimisation of key systems, effective office management, and the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, and sustainability, supporting both day-to-day requirements and long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Support Team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ensure alignment of administration, systems, and ESG initiatives with organisational goals.

Administration

  • Oversee administrative processes, including records management, reporting, and policy compliance.
  • Act as a central point of communication for stakeholders.
  • Ensure high standards of governance and consistency across documentation and reporting.

Systems Management

  • Oversee and maintain key operational systems including:
    • Dwellant: property management platform for service delivery and resident engagement.
    • Over-C: real-time workforce and health & safety management system.
    • Elogbooks: maintenance tracking, preventative maintenance scheduling, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide staff support, troubleshooting, data analysis, and process optimisation across all systems.

Office Management

  • Manage facilities, supplies, vendors, and day-to-day office operations.
  • Support with meeting, event, and travel coordination.
  • Ensure a sustainable, efficient, and productive working environment.

ESG Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental initiatives including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint tracking.
  • Support social commitments including diversity, equity, inclusion, and CSR programmes.
  • Ensure governance compliance with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g. GRESB, CDP, TCFD).
  • Produce ESG data, reports, and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work across departments to align administrative, system, and ESG activities with broader business objectives.
  • Deliver staff training on system use and ESG practices.
  • Continuously review processes to drive efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Proven experience in business support, administration, or operations management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in systems oversight (Dwellant, Over-C, Elogbooks desirable).
  • Knowledge of ESG principles, compliance, and reporting frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret and use data for decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or ESG-related qualifications (desirable)

Other Requirements

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Working Hours - 9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5hrs)

Salary - £50k - dependant on experience
