Are you an experienced Drawing Office Manager with a strong background in structural steel? A respected and growing steelwork contractor in London is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to lead their drawing office team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee a team of detailers and draughtspeople to ensure high-quality drawings are produced on time and within project scope.

  • Coordinate closely with the contracts, fabrication, and design teams to deliver accurate and buildable models and drawings.

  • Ensure drawings are compliant with client specifications, engineering calculations, and industry standards.

  • Maintain drawing office workflows, allocate work effectively, and provide technical guidance to team members.

  • Liaise with clients, structural engineers, and architects to resolve queries and maintain smooth project delivery.

  • Implement and uphold best practices for drawing production, version control, and BIM coordination.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a drawing office management or senior detailing role within the structural steel industry.

  • Proficient with 3D modelling software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or similar.

  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.

  • Thorough understanding of fabrication and erection processes related to steel structures.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Desirable:
  • Formal qualifications in engineering, design, or construction-related disciplines.

  • Knowledge of BIM and digital construction workflows.
