We are working with a welcoming, inclusive primary school in Barnet that prides itself on its strong sense of community, nurturing ethos, and commitment to every child’s personal and academic development. We are currently seeking an experienced and confident Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time role, supporting pupils across EYFS through to KS2, helping them to regulate their emotions, manage their behaviour, and engage positively with their learning.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Implement and adapt strategies to help students self-regulate and manage challenging situations effectively.
- De-escalate behaviour calmly and professionally using positive and restorative approaches.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create consistent support plans.
- Support learning and behaviour both inside and outside of the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have at least 2 years’ experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs.
- Be confident working across all key stages, including EYFS and KS2.
- Have proven experience in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to promoting positive outcomes for all children.
- Hold a valid DBS registered on the Update Service.
