About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN secondary school in Greenwich. This role is based within a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) unit on site, supporting secondary-aged students with a range of complex needs.

This is a full-time, term-time position and would suit someone with a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting and feeding, with dignity and respect.

  • Support students with physical and sensory impairments, communication needs, and medical conditions.

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment.

  • Promote the physical, social, and emotional development of all students.



Requirements:

  • Recent experience working in a secondary school setting is essential.

  • Previous experience supporting students with complex SEN, ideally within a PMLD or similar environment.

  • Comfortable and confident with delivering personal care.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
