You'll be working in a specialist VAT compliance team, primarily focused on ensuring timely and accurate filing and corrections of VAT returns across the FRITES region (France, Italy, Spain), with additional focus on Italian annual VAT returns, audit support, and related reporting obligations.Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting VAT correction filings across multiple EMEA jurisdictions
- Producing and reviewing Intrastat and EC Sales Lists (ECSLs)
- Managing queries from European tax authorities, liaising with internal stakeholders and providing draft responses
- Supporting internal and external VAT audits with data analysis and reporting
- Handling data collection and preparation for Italian annual VAT submissions
- Reviewing and maintaining internal VAT compliance process documentation (SOPs)
What we're looking for:Essential:
- Degree-qualified in Tax, Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in VAT advisory or compliance roles
- Sound working knowledge of VAT principles and filing requirements
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas etc.)
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
- Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented with a "can-do" attitude
Nice to have:
- Fluency in Italian or French
- Previous experience with large-scale ERP or tax reporting systems
- Familiarity with responding to tax audits or liaising with tax authorities
- Experience in a high-volume, multinational organisation
Working arrangements:
- Location: This role can be based in London or Manchester (on-site 5 days per week)
- Duration: Initial 4-month contract with potential for extension
