About the Role
A Local Authority in Ealing, are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Fostering and Permanence Panel Co-ordinator to join our Children and Families Directorate. This pivotal role ensures the smooth running of fostering and permanence panels, supporting decisions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children in care.
You will manage all aspects of panel coordination, including scheduling, preparing documentation, and providing a full minuting service. Accuracy and confidentiality are paramount, as you will record complex discussions and ensure recommendations are documented and distributed within statutory timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage fostering and permanence panels and ADM decision-making meetings.
- Prepare agendas, distribute case papers, and liaise with social workers, panel members, and advisors.
- Take detailed, accurate, and confidential minutes of complex meetings and ensure timely distribution.
- Maintain panel records, statutory checks, and compliance with national minimum standards.
- Produce reports and data to support performance monitoring and statutory returns.
- Provide professional business support and advice to Children's Services staff and independent professionals.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in taking in-depth, detailed, and accurate minutes of meetings and distributing them within agreed timescales.
- Strong administrative background, including arranging and coordinating meetings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fast, accurate typing skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Desirable
- Experience in local authority or fostering services.
- Knowledge of fostering regulations and statutory processes.
