Signature Recruitment is working with our client, a respected London university, to recruit an HR Administrator to join their team on a full-time temporary basis.

This role starts immediately for an initial three-month period, with strong potential to extend for up to a year. The role is office-based five days a week to start, moving to a hybrid model (3 days in-office / 2 remote) once training is complete.

Working within a small, collaborative HR team, you’ll help manage the full employee lifecycle for fixed-term academic staff. From contract checks to liaising with Principal Investigators (PIs) on funding availability, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring HR processes are accurate, timely, and fully GDPR compliant.

HR Administrator Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer contract extensions, leaver processes, and probation documentation using the PeopleXD HR system
  • Liaise with PIs to confirm contract funding, initiating renewals or managing terminations where necessary
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation using Excel and shared file systems
  • Handle sensitive personal data in line with GDPR and internal compliance procedures
  • Monitor HR inboxes and respond to queries, following up and escalating when needed
  • Support recruitment and visiting appointment paperwork, purchase orders, and affiliate access requests

HR Administrator Key Skills:

  • Proven administrative experience in a busy, process-driven environment
  • Confident communicator able to follow up across Outlook, Teams, phone or in person
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Proficient with Excel, shared systems, and able to work across multiple tasks with minimal supervision

While you don’t need formal HR qualifications or extensive HR experience, this role does require strong administrative skills, confidence with systems like Excel, and a proactive mindset.
