The New Model School (NMS) Company Ltd is a dynamic, private limited company that operates two independent, co-educational prep schools in London: Maple Walk in North West London and Faraday in East London. About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support the NMS HR function and general office duties, including dealing with incoming calls. The postholder will also support the CEO with organizing meetings, preparing board papers, and taking minutes, as well as managing office stock and space.

Key responsibilities include:

  • HR Administration:
    • Maintaining the HR function of the Engage database and other record-keeping processes to ensure HR records are accurate and up-to-date.
    • Assisting with the onboarding process for new joiners.
    • Supporting the NMS Induction process and start-of-year processes.
    • Managing the archive process for paper and electronic HR files.
    • Support the HR manager in maintaining SCR
  • CEO Support:
    • Arranging meetings, coordinating diaries, and managing office space.
    • Assisting with mail outs and preparing papers for meetings.
    • Taking meeting minutes.
    • Carrying out research and other ad-hoc projects.
    • Organizing team meals and social events.
  • Office Support:
    • Handling all incoming NMS calls.
    • Keeping the office and meeting room spaces tidy.
    • Ordering stationery and other office supplies.
    • Ensuring office printers are functioning.

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a graduate or qualified by experience and possess the following skills and attributes:

  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent, with strong numerical skills.
  • Experience with HR/MIS or similar systems and accurate data entry skills.
  • Confidence and good experience with business tools such as Excel, Word, and Google equivalents.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a great telephone manner.
  • An analytical approach and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work constructively as part of a small team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of social media for business purposes.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK

Additional Information:

This is an office-based role for 4 days a week, with one of the days being Friday. The working hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a half-hour lunch break, all year round. The role reports to the HR Manager and CEO.
