Description

The successful Portfolio Lead will:

  • Lead the alignment of the Transformation plan with the Strategy, ensuring the prioritisation and validation of Transformation projects and programmes to underpin and deliver the Strategy - continuously evaluate projects and programmes to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and adjust priorities in year as required based on business needs and Portfolio performance
  • Actively manage the Transformation Portfolio to ensure the delivery of the Transformation plan benefits, with accountability for the following:
    • Critically assess risks, issues, dependencies and financial performance to identify gaps, opportunities for improvement, and work with business leads and EB sponsors to implement corrective actions to maintain strategic alignment and performance
    • Robust tracking, escalations and interventions at senior EB-1 level to ensure required business outcomes and financial / non-financial benefits are realised in line with the Transformation plan
    • Active management of the Strategic Transformation Portfolio including forward plan, key performance indicators (KPIs), proof points and critical timelines/deliverables to drive success
    • Work collaboratively with project managers, programme managers and business stakeholders to identify and define key benefits and value metrics for each initiative, aligning with strategic goals and ensure these are fully captured in business cases
  • Responsible for high quality upwards EB reporting across the portfolio ensuring clarity of key messages to drive necessary actions
  • Lead role to coordinate overall P3M workforce supply/demand within the Transformation plan and escalation of any resource gaps to Head of Group Transformation
  • Provide cover for Head of Group Transformation as required and support with ongoing and ad-hoc project work
  • Role model our leadership behaviours, building trust with our people across the organisation, and as part of the wider leadership community

Profile

The successful Portfolio Lead should have:

  • Proven experience in strategic planning and transformation delivery, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role.
  • Ideally from a consultancy background.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situation and effectively communicate.
  • Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management at the most senior levels up to Exec Board level.
  • Highly competent at providing strategic challenge, and scrutiny, ensuring alignment with wider policy and strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills plus excellent presentation abilities.
  • Strong excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • A passion for driving positive change within organisations.
