Job Title: Payroll and Pension Officer

Contract: 5 months

Hourly Rate: £20 - £30

Location: London-based University

Job Summary:

To assist the team in delivering a comprehensive, and efficient Payroll and Pension administration service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle payroll and pensions administration, payments, and reporting
  • Manage loan benefit scheme and ensure accurate deductions
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing (new starters, P45, student loans, court orders)
  • Administer pension schemes and Auto Enrolment tasks
  • Prepare payroll journals and reconcile control accounts
  • Compile data for PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA)
  • Address payroll queries and produce emergency payments
  • Ensure accurate third-party payments (pensions, HMRC)

Specification:

  • Experience using an integrated HR/Payroll database
  • Experience of a full range of HR / Payroll processes covering the complete employee life-cycle
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a highly customer-focused approach

Highly Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience using SAP software
  • Experience working within higher education
