We are exclusively partnered with a leading MGU (Managing General Underwriter) to appoint a Compliance Director for an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for overseeing the full breadth of compliance activities across the business, with a particular focus on delivering key strategic compliance initiatives to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal compliance lead for the business, advising the CEO, Board, and wider executive team.
  • Manage all regulatory relationships, including direct engagement with the FCA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee risk reporting to both the Board and the firm's Private Equity backer.
  • Lead on strategic compliance projects and change initiatives, ensuring the business remains ahead of regulatory expectations.
  • Drive a culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the organisation.
  • Maintain and enhance internal compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory obligations.

Requirements:

  • A strong track record of operating at senior/executive level within a compliance function, ideally within MGA/MGU environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of FCA regulation, insurance market practices, and risk management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead regulatory engagement and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Available to start within the next 3 months.
  • Commercial, pragmatic, and able to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
