am working with a top city law firm who are looking for an experienced compliance analyst to join their team, which includes the Head of Compliance, Risk and Compliance Manager, Risk and Compliance Lawyer, Compliance Officers. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to support the client and matter onboarding process and help ensure the firm’s compliance with relevant regulations.

The role will involve the following:

  • Conducting enhanced CDD (Client due diligence) when onboarding client, especially those with complex structures.
  • Acting as an advisor to fee-earners and requesting additional information required for conducting conflicts and AML checks.
  • Ongoing monitoring of existing clients and updating central registers.
  • Conducting sanctions screenings for PEPs.
  • Answering compliance and AML queries and liaising with the MLRO where required.
  • Engaging with ad-hoc compliance projects as and when they arise.
  • Managing the shared compliance inbox for new client and new matter openings and ensuring that emails and requests are dealt with in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a risk and compliance role ideally within a law firm.
  • Previous experience in conducting client onboarding and reviewing risk assessments.
  • Experience in completing CDD for corporate entities and complex corporate structures would be ideal.
  • Experience with dealing with general risk and compliance matters in a law firm.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team player.
