A vibrant, community-focused primary school in Islington is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate KS1 Class Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an ECT looking for a strong start to their teaching career or a more experienced practitioner ready for a fresh challenge in a welcoming environment.

About the Role - KS1 Class Teacher

As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons to a class of eager and enthusiastic learners. You'll have full class teacher responsibilities and will work closely with your year group partner in this two-form entry school to plan, assess, and support each child's development.

The school is known for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. You'll be joining a nurturing team with high expectations and a genuine passion for helping pupils reach their full potential.

Responsibilities - KS1 Class Teacher

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils in Key Stage 1
  • Plan and deliver creative lessons aligned to the KS1 curriculum
  • Assess pupils' progress, provide constructive feedback, and track attainment
  • Create a safe, stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and senior leaders
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support whole-child development

The Ideal Candidate - KS1 Class Teacher

We are looking for a reflective and dedicated KS1 Class Teacher who can bring positivity, energy, and strong curriculum knowledge into the classroom.

You must have:

  • QTS and experience teaching in Key Stage 1
  • A solid understanding of phonics, early reading and writing strategies
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to be an active member of the school community
  • A passion for inspiring young learners and nurturing their individual growth
