SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to partner with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the heart of Islington to recruit a passionate and skilled Year 1 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about early learning, confident with phonics, and excited to make a lasting impact during this crucial stage of education.
The school is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher who can bring creativity, warmth, and consistency to the classroom. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time Year 1 Teacher position within a well-established, two-form entry school
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Lead high-quality phonics instruction using a structured phonics programme (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle)
- Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 1 Teacher to share ideas and resources
- Monitor pupil progress closely and adapt learning where necessary
- Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, and support staff
- Support pupils' transition from the EYFS stage and nurture a love for learning early on
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified Year 1 Teacher (UK QTS required)
- Experience or strong understanding of teaching systematic phonics
- Confident in delivering a balanced and engaging KS1 curriculum
- Enthusiastic, reflective, and passionate about early childhood education
- Committed to creating a safe and stimulating classroom environment
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Open to ECTs or experienced Year 1 Teachers looking for a fresh opportunity
