About Reed Courses

Reed Courses is a part of Reed.co.uk; one of Britain's most established digital brands. Our mission is to be the UK's most trusted learning marketplace for career development. We work with hundreds of respected learning providers to advertise over 90,000 courses in a wide range of subjects; from accounting and HR right through to fitness and cooking. We offer courses for both consumers and businesses - helping individuals learn something new and develop their career, whilst also allowing employers to upskill their staff and create a more knowledgeable workforce.

Overview

We're looking for a motivated, ambitious Product Manager seeking a unique and rewarding career opportunity within a small, tightly knit cross-functional team. Reporting to the Director of Product Strategy, you'll be responsible for developing and optimising the entire suite of Courses products: a high performing B2C ecommerce/marketplace website, a B2B facing advertising backend and an internal management platform. We're looking for someone who thrives on owning everything from the smallest details of a feature change, right up to helping shape the product vision and business direction.

Commercially driven and team oriented, you'll be actively interested in expanding your remit outside of just Product, through high levels of collaboration with other departments - not only Technology and Design, but Commercial, Marketing and CRM. You'll have the opportunity to wear many hats and get involved in projects and initiatives of all shapes and types, including those which expand beyond the remit of a traditional product role.

You'll have exposure to senior stakeholders and decision makers, with the opportunity to develop your skills to influence and persuade. Organised, highly personable and - most importantly - enthusiastic, you'll want to hit the ground running and deliver, right from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing a deep understanding of the customer - both B2B (course provider) and B2C (course seeker) - through the gathering & analysis of customer feedback
  • Championing the needs of both customer sets, in line with the product strategy for the business
  • Full understanding of our competitors' offerings within a complex product landscape
  • Working closely with all members of the development team, as well as the Product Designer, Product Analyst and CRM/Marketing team
  • Managing stakeholders of different levels of seniority from multiple different functional areas of the business
  • Use of data to inform decision making, as well as monitoring key KPIs to ensure continued health of the business
  • Own the roadmap and backlog, ensuring the team is focused on the highest priorities and delivering on schedule
  • Influence the development of the product & business strategies through idea generation and the identification of future opportunities

Required skills

  • Desire to lead, take responsibility and ultimately, own 100% of a product
  • Experience working in a small, cross functional team where everyone is ready to pitch beyond their official responsibilities, if it's what's best for the team and for the business
  • Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and frequent priority shifts, with the ability to react quickly and respond positively to change
  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to overcome obstacles and get things done
  • First class interpersonal skills - in person, remotely and in written format
  • Innovative & full of ideas for both creating and taking advantage of new opportunities
  • Commercial awareness, understanding both how to optimise a complex product and how to react to a fast changing competitor landscape
  • Strong customer empathy with the ability to fully understand the needs of the user
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to use data to understand key business drivers and how they underpin strategic and tactical decision making
  • Comfortable creating and implementing new processes, as well as challenging/improving existing ones
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a desire to be part of a team with a strong internal identity

What we can offer you

  • Hybrid working (min. 3 days per week in office).
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Flexible holiday scheme with the option to buy or carry over holiday days.
  • Moving home leave.
  • 10% of your time dedicated to personal development.
  • Financial benefits including pension and health cash plan subscription .
  • Enhanced family leave policies.
  • Insurance benefits including life assurance.
  • Discount scheme including gyms and popular retailers.
  • Range of wellbeing and mental health support avenues.
  • Office in an amazing location in Covent Garden.
