This role involves:
- Defining inspection strategies and processes to optimise delivery, balancing internal resources and subcontractors.
- Establishing safe and efficient work procedures, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and fostering a robust safety culture across the team.
- Managing and leading the inspection team, including specialists and subcontractors, to deliver results within budget and quality expectations.
- Acting as the primary interface with internal stakeholders, external contractors, National Highways, and other key partners to align on objectives and resolve issues effectively.
- Collaborating with the Asset & Network Planning function to align inspection volumes with planning cycles and supporting the organisation's talent development and retention goals.
Your leadership will be instrumental in enhancing inspection efficiency and driving process improvements, ensuring timely, accurate data capture to support better decision-making.
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA REQUIRED
- Proven experience managing large-scale inspection programmes or similar high-volume planned activities across multiple asset types.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing teams in a matrix organisation.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and standards within the industry.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional [PMP], SMSTS)
