About the Role:
Southwark Council is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Quality Officer to join our Housing and Modernisation Team. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance work in communal areas across council estates. You will act as the primary point of contact for contractors, tenants, and leaseholders, making sure all works are completed to the highest standards and meet contract specifications.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and specify communal repairs, ensuring cost-effective solutions and quality work.

Conduct pre- and post-inspections to verify that work meets contract requirements.

Act as Contract Administrator for communal repairs, monitoring contractor performance.

Enforce compliance with health and safety standards, applying sanctions when necessary.

Liaise with tenants and leaseholders, providing updates and addressing inquiries.

Monitor and manage service and maintenance contracts to ensure adherence to Southwark Council's standards.

Work collaboratively with contractors and residents to ensure timely, quality repairs.

Contribute to estate inspections and communal events, addressing issues as they arise.

Help improve repair services and contribute to the development of ongoing maintenance strategies.
About You:
You will have strong technical expertise in communal repairs and maintenance, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects. You should have experience in contract management, performance monitoring, and be comfortable using technology for communication and reporting. A proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with contractors and residents are key for success in this role.
Qualifications and Experience:

Experience in communal repairs, property maintenance, or a similar technical role

Strong knowledge of inspecting and managing repair works
