Quality Inspection Technician
Location: Wandsworth (SW18)
Role: Temp to Perm (ongoing)
Pay rate: 12.21 per hour
Key Functional Relationships:
Close cooperation is required with the production team, especially team leaders, to ensure they receive feedback about quality concerns, with the other members of the quality team for advice, support and guidance and with the Engineering Team to raise documentation issues. The production, warehouse and planning teams will provide information to allow the prioritisation of inspection tasks.
Role Overview:
The Quality Inspection Technician will be based in our London headquarters and report to the Quality Team Manager. They will inspect goods released from production before they reach packing to ensure they meet the quality requirements of the business.
Job Objective:
Ensure the quality of product leaving the production line.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Sample inspect product leaving the production line and ensure it conforms to drawing.
- Raise quality issues found during inspection with the Quality Team, Drawing Office and Planning Team.
- Record quality issues found in Jira Service desk.
- Feedback any issues found with the clarity or usability of production drawings to the Drawing Office
- Manage workload with feedback from warehouse and planning to meet shipping targets.
- Assist with inbound inspection when required
- Setting up and conducting additional electrical testing of product
- Write up reports of quality problems discovered and resolutions.
Key performance dimensions
- 100% of Production Orders Inspected by Count.
Qualifications and Experience
- Production experience.
- Experience of identifying and resolving quality problems.
- Engineering or Quality qualifications preferred but not essential.
Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Intermediate level MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint.
- Experience of interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
